The number of expected actuations of the shutter is an estimate at best and for a camera which has been cared for and not used in extreme environments then these would be a reasonable guess. There are many factors governing life expectancy though and this database with information submitted by users shows a wide spread of figures.

Don't be alarmed though since what this database (though informative) does not tell you is how these cameras were used or cared for and the info should be viewed with an open mind and a pinch of sodium chloride. ;)

When it reaches the maximum a voice will inform you that the message camera will self-destruct in 10 seconds, so best to make sure it's not near your face at the time.....:naughty:
