100-400 fault

so the best way to keep a check on it is .make a note of the canon shutter count, and then say, keep a note of how many shots i do every time i use the camera

now i am confused
just looked at the last bunch of photos i took with the 5d (before it broke) and the file num was 2372, when i got the camera it had been reset to zero, so between then and now is a difference of around 7000 shots.
i do use the same cards in my 30 d as well and just checked the file number on my 30d and its 9827 so looks like something to do with the 30d
but the 5d still show the 9814 num in the info window even with no card inserted, should i reset the 5d file back to zero .
i guess then that the canon count will be correct and the camera probably had only 6000 when i bought it

Got my 1dmk3 back from elstree today, i asked them to repair the cf door catch, and give the mirror and focus screen a clean.

Looks like they changed a few bits :) all free under warranty.

Oh and a shutter count check 85,000 oooh

Theyve been brilliant with me in the past , id only use them, signed up for the cps program now, this one only took 7 days. Under cps maybe 3 days.

Very interesting and helpful thread. I have a 5DMK 2 and a 24-70 f2.8 lens both with warranties that run out in October and I think I will get them in for calibration as Ive never been too happy with the L lens

Any idea what the turn round is for calibration using Canon at Elstree
