What would you take photos of? red sand, red sand and more red sand ...oh and some red rocks too:lol: Not sure if their getting broadband yet.

Id love to do this . To be the first person to set foot on Mars would be a great achievement , you'd be forever remembered . I don't think that the wife would be too happy though , or maybe she would :S

They have back-ups. You can always change your mind (until you're on your way).

Not that I'm remotely interested in going, just thought I'd see what it was all about.
 
8 years of training needed... You'd think on that basis that they would limit applications to 21 year old athletes with a good degree, but they seem to be taking applications and application fees from anyone of any age...

I don't think any of it will go to plan, it's a lot more strategic than someone just signing up and leaving the planet etc. Seems like another PR stunt to get some $'s though. I watched a few of the applicant's videos and to be honest, we'll learn nothing from them going to Mars!
