anyone know where is the best place to buy a 10 stop filter compatible with a lee system??

thanks in advance.

You mean the new Lee Bigger Stopper? It's good, has a neat light seal, but last I heard it was sold out.

I would phone Lee re availability.

There are only really 2 choices for a filter compatible with the Lee system. Either a Hitech 10 stop or the Lee Big Stopper.

The Hitech is half the price of the Lee but suffers from a severe magenta colour cast and has no sealing. The Lee is supposedly near colour cast free and has a foam seal.

Stock of the Lee is limited at the mo. Mine arrived yesterday though;)

Hopefully by next week I'll be able to post a review comparing the Lee big stopper to the Hitech 10 stop filter.

I orderd mine in April from Warehouse Express. Just got it last week.

Does that mean you may have a Hitech 10 stop for sale soon? Can I register an interest if so?

All you need is a B&W 10 stop filter on your lens, and screw your Lee rings onto the B&W.

Thats what I do.

One of the advantages of the Lee system is that you can slot the filter in and out easily, or clip the whole holder on/off quickly. And it's more neutral than the B+W.

I haven't done a shot with one of these filters yet where I haven't taken the filter off a few times before the final exposure. (Must try harder.)
