"Acknowledge you will mainly take failures" (y)

All in all, pretty good advice IMO.

"Don't wish you could be a famous photographer" reminded me of something a fashion tutor said to me recently about many of her current students having a similar fantasy / preoccupation. I wonder if this is a symptom of the social media age, that's more to do with posing rather than getting down to work?

This is from 2010, from a poll of 16 year olds from the UK

"Asked the question "What would you like to do for your career?", some 54 per cent answered "Become a celebrity"."

I think that goes back to, at least, the 1960s.

Does anyone else remember the film "Blowup" and its comedic, distant cousin, "Smashing Time"?

I think I've seen more recent polls where becoming an influencer is now the favoured career.
