Do you use profiled scanners for scanning Velvia 100? I've had some Velvia 100 scanned in the past by another company but the colours on the scans were way off from the ones on the slides.

If yes, how do you profile your scanners? Is that with IT8 targets etc.?

Hi, We tend to find using the Nikon colour management system very good for reproducing the original films colour, we've not needed to use IT8 targets to help with the profiling / calibration.

If you'd like to send us four sample images we'll scan them for you for free so you can judge for yourself. We've get several professional photographers who send large format film to us for scanning to reproduce in magazines and posters.
 
Hi All,
I found this thread from one of the others. I am currently looking for a scanning service as I realise it may be too much work for myself to do the scanning of my parnets negatives and slides.

When I searched for advise on scanning and services I see that the price mentioned above is really good, but I can't find any tech specs on the image quality and if any filters are applied on their website. You know, like removing dust etc.

The only relevant competitor I've found for the UK is http://diadirekt.com/

they give plenty of details in their FAQ, but it might be the same at http://www.EasySlideScanning.co.uk

Does anyone know?
 
We remove all dust on any slides that we receive, all our operatives wear white cotton gloves, then the slides have remaining dust blown off with a mini air compressor.

We can and do use software dust removal when customers ask.

Is your cheapest return delivery option £7? For a few negatives and a CD(I would prefer email tbh)?

If you prefer Recorded delivery for a few negs and a CD it would be £2.00.

The £7 is special delivery before 1pm next day delviery.
 
I started off with the other company first - they have a time-limited offer at 25p per photo and the same £7 return fee as you do. I'll let you know how it went.

Hi all,
I have now received my pictures back - and they were great. I'll do some great slideshows and scrap booking excercises for christmas. So I recommend you to use http://diadirekt.com -they had a friendly customer service and the quality was excellent (they even used some of my pictures as cover and on the DVDs, which I think was cute).

I'll check in on your offer with paper photos at 8p EasySlide, as I am sure your service is good too! Thanks all on this thread in helping me with this. :clap:
