10-20 and 1dmk2

is it correct that the sigma 10-20 won't fit a 1dmk2 ? or is it just the full frame 1 series it won't fit ? i was about to try it but remembered seeing something about 1 series and 10-20s

Unfortunately it will not fit, all 1 series need EF lenses if it had fitted I would never have sold mine

Susie is right. You need to avoid Canon EF-S, Sigma DC and Tamron Di-II lenses which will only fit cameras with APS-C sized sensors (eg 30/40/50D, 400/450/500D etc.). The Sigma 10-20mm is a DC lens.

You can modify them apparently...I remember somebody posted on here how they did it!


Not sure I would want to mind you...probably safer getting a 12-24 or similar

Les Mclean has a 10-20mm that he used on his 1ds mk11, but I'm not exactly sure which one. PM him he may be able to help.

You need to pop a bit of plastic at the back and make sure that the lens is not used beyond about 12mm and there's no mechanical reason why it won't work.

There's loads of people on Flickr who have done this for a 5d, can't remember about a 1 series though I'm affraid

Works but only to 12mm without vignetting...
