1 Second Photo Challenge - The Photo's Thread

Ok folks I can't do fireworks tonight as I will be with good friends eating good food and drinking plenty of good wine, and because of that I really don't want to think of what you will get tomorrow if anything at all! Anyway here goes for day 3 make the most of it as you might not get day 4!!!! lol

Called it "Glass Reflection" because of the way my little computer room come photographic studio come general tip is reflected. lol

This rule of thirds thing gets me, I have off set the photograph trying to keep that in mind but question - Would this photograph be better off being centered?

Look forward to your advice.

Carol

I think the rule of thirds is more guideline? And doesn't apply in every situation?

I centred your photo on screen to see it better, and I love the colours that are shown. I think for the rule of thirds to apply there does need to be something on the other side of the frame, even if its just a watermark. But that's just my opinion!

I think so too!!

Stunning Star shot Matt, I like it because it's not completely black:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Cheers :D when I checked this morning this one has made it onto flickr explore :woot: marking my 6th of the year and 8th of all time

great work so far people.... here's my first couple.. took the easy route to start with as i have a superb firework display at the primary school at the end of my garden every year, so it'd be rude not to wouldn't it

#1 Quite liked this.. i normally like a bit of ambient light to give some scale or idea of the surroundings - but this is more of an abstract shot giving the effect of snowdrops.

Both shots were at 2.5 secs, f/11, ISO400

My third photo for this month's challenge

2012 Firework Display at Kenilworth Castle, the wonderful range of colours and effect's was simply stunning to watch this year and the wind direction carried the smoke over the castle to make some really atmospheric looking effects

I went out to Waggoners Wells looking for Fungi today with a couple of fellow TP'ers (Crusher & Ajophotog). There wasn't much about apart from these really small ones so after a few disappointing shots with flash I opted for natural light. This was 1.6 secs at f/36, ISO 400.

A bit of a departure for me on the 1 second challenge, this is a little Irish figure that we have had for years I just though it was apt that he is an artist :D this is a 20 second exposure to avoid flash casting harsh shadows

Week 1/4 - D3S 25secs @ f22 with Lee Big Stopper ISO 200

Bristol Waterfront
Construction site with two cranes, situated adjacent to the ferry stop.

What has the Big Stopper done?
  • Added movement to the clouds.
  • Blurred the movement of the crane.
  • Blurred the workmen (around 10) on top of the construction.
  • Tracked the ferry to the ferry stop.
  • Calmed the water.

I'll call it the 'Whizzy-Crane' :D

Well this is my 5th challenge photo

How often do you get to include so many photographic loves into a single frame, while this evening I've got this photo with Star's, Trails and Fireworks all in a single frame
