Hello everybody

I have made posts already on a thread before the classifieds update. I wanted to see if there were any good deals in the for sale thread however i now need 100 posts :thinking:

I dont have any opinions on DSLRs as i dont have one and i have never had one lol. This is going to be a long 100 posts before i can scower the for sale section to get possibly source my first DSLR lol

I was so confused at first as i remember sketching through the for sale section last time i was on. In saying this i do understand why this has been implemented however i think you should maybe revise the posts to 50?

I've been on some other forums where people sign up simply so scam other member in the classifieds section.

I imagine making a pre-requisite for 100 posts will deter any scammers, if you're really desperate for a camera you could always give ebay a go. :)

As stated in the first post I completeley understand why this has been added. I just think 100 is excessive. :thumbsdown:
 
100 does seem a bit high to me too, I imagine that the people with 100 + posts already have most of their equipment and it's the new users who are after their cast offs.

Saying that I completely understand the reason behind it and encouraging people to be more active isn't a bad thing. A vibrant community is always a good thing.

Oh I see, even so I don't think 100 posts is excessive, on another forum I've been on you need to have 250 posts and to have been a member for over 6 months in order to have access to the classifieds section, so I think 100 isn't that much at all.

I guess 50 would be nicer, but I would say that as I'd then also have access! :lol: 100 posts doesn't really take that long though especially if you're going to be getting you're first DSLR... I remember I was full of questions before I got my D60!

I'm sorry, but this new ruling about posts and the classified is showing up just what we don't want on TP. I decided that I wanted to take up photography and used the internet to find out opinions. When I was ready I bought my first DSLR (D70) and went from there. I didn't try to get on a forum to make sure I got the cheapest equipment, I wanted to learn from people who could show me how to make the best of what I could afford. This is not a cheap hobby, get that in your heads and post your thoughts and opinions in the areas of photography that interest you and if a bargin arises, well that's a bonus!

I appreciate your input but of course i have other things i need to spend my money on so of course im going to be eager to find myself a nice deal on my firs DSLR. Please dont think im am here to snatch up some goodies and never use the forum again. As for posting my thoughts and opinions i find i am doing more reading than posting. Do you really want me on every topic with some comment saying, "Nice bro", and thats it?
 
Doh!!! Silly me, I was sat looking for the classified ads and wondering why I could not see them thinking they had been removed and then came across this post stating we need 100 posts arggggghhhhh, gonna take me ages, I was always looking on there for any good buys to add to my new arsenal lol.

Oh well here's to happy posting :lol:
 
Hmmmmmm just realised I have a fair way to go, half way there now!!!
Then I get my access to classifieds back. whoop whoop!

I do get why people think 100 posts is a high number I have only been a member for a few months and have a post count +600 and I cannot think of a time that I have posted a "nice photo" post it is really quite easy to surpass the hundred post mark it's called being an active member as apposed to coming on just to look for bargains and then maybe have a look at some other members photos

It's a photography forum, not an online classifieds site.

You'll get to 100 posts by asking questions, posting images and taking part in the community that is TP. Access to the classifieds section is a benefit that needs to be earned.
