No
yeah so like it says, here is a photo i made using my homemade 4x5 camera shot onto fomapan 100.
orielwindow.jpg

give it a +1 if you know the importance of the window above the doorway.

Well, learnt something new today (had to google for the answer).

Pretty sure I know but can't remember the photographer's name (or the house's!). Ah! F-T for the photographer but the house still escapes me. And he shot from inside the window!

Is the building WA, a former ecclesiastical establishment? Resisting the temptation to Google so far!

I know what it is and the importance of the window WFT (from the other side?) but do you want it let out yet?

I feel I should and am prepared to be embarrassed but... no I don't...

It was the subject of the first negative taken by Fox-Talbot at Lacock Abbey. The birth of photography really, well pre digital.

Damn! Wrong A! Parents used to have a lodger by the surname of L - if I've got the right one this time! And the W I was thinking of is an anagram of the L that I now think is correct - but with an extra letter - the W. Couldn't resist Google any longer - and FTR, I had the wrong L!

I paid my first homage on Monday, I've been indulging in some historic processes lately and thought it was about time. was a great day and a bit of fun setting up my "cushina" 4x5

I should have gone earlier this year, but the trip got canceled, planning to go next year to pay my respects and goggle in awe at the displays!

Well, was a mildly constructive exercise. So yeah its the oriel window at lacock Abbey.
The museum is great but one thing did nag about it and that was the little mention given to John Herschel, and his discovery with sodium thiosulphate without this foxys negative would have been pointless.

Well if he edits his post and deletes the crucial words  .......
you could still get some mileage out of it!

I recognised it, we called in on our way home from a family holiday in Dorset a couple of years ago.

Just around the corner from me so yes I know where it is and the significance.

If anyone wants to know then the filename of the image should help with a search. But for now just a yes or no will do.
