1.15-gigapixel picture of the Royal Wedding

You can zoon all the way in and see each individual ;) I have to admit I was checking DSLR and lens ;)

Its just amazing seeing how many people holding cameras whether its a mobile phone camera or a DSLR

Ditto!
Spotted 3 people to the right of the shot with DSLR's, 1 had a speedlite and the other two had the pop ups activated! Fill flash at that range!?

Amazing quality though considering, I looked and I wasn't even there.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:

I did the very same. Saw some nice cameras and some strange techniques..

Cheers.

Just been having a quick look and found some "interesting" things

To the right, where the New Zealand flag is on the railing, back row and across a bit to the right - dude wearing a tiara

On the right, behind the 2 police officers where the small US flags are, girl in red cardigan - made me laugh.

Far right behind the last coldstream guard, to the left of the guy with the canon L lens and speedlite fitted (with stofen mind), man has only half a head.

Left, below the yellow crane things above the policeman with the white gloves and hands behind his back - bird in flight!

2 opening on the ground floor of the media center, guy in the middle with chinos on has his flies undone.

Haha! Good spots!

+1 on the looking at people with SLRs and what glass they had on! :D

Thats quite amazing! Would be interesting to see the piece(s) of kit behind that picture.

Could someone enlighten me as to how this was taken? Taking ~120 shots of an extremely busy street scene and stitching it together sounds tricky...the only thing I can think of is 120 cameras at once

189 shots according to the BBC, Probably using something like a gigapan, the movement is to be expected and not really a lot you can do. The US inauguration has the same blend issues where people have moved.

I really love these and would love to make one, but a gigapan, even a cheap one, is just too expensive.
