Just be warned it isn't always very easy to move away from 1&1 for example after your cheap first year. They aren't overly keen on you getting control back over your domain name (if you register it with them).

Shame 1and1's control panel is awful, otherwise it might not be too bad
Ah, I have no experience of using them and didn't know that, just passing on the info.
I guess there is always a catch.

Avoid at all costs if you wan't my honest opinion. Absolutely the worst hosting company on the planet, EVER. Absolutely horrendous in every way. Last straw for me, a technical (hardware) fault which left 6 sites offline for 3 days, and they didn't give a ****.

I've just built a mate of mine a site, and he's on 1&1... Nightmare.
I'm with eukhost, and again, chalk & cheese... Instant support on pretty much everything (I was asking them to help me with DNS and httpd.conf stuff yesterday, still instant responses!)
Although I have no need for anything like them I will always remember never ever to use them. Not many years ago, probably when they first launched, every tech mag I bought had about a quarter of the pages taken up by their advertising, for months. :annoyed:
