Looks like a trip to WEX is called for I am sure they will have some secondhand Nikons available to test with. The D series bodies do make for a smaller package when compared to the Z bodies with Z lenses.I have the adapter, but the 50mm doesn’t sound right on both the ZF and Z8 so wanted to try it on an older body. I am also seeing some fogging when I connect to the adapter on the back element of the lens, so it’s another reason why I wanted to try it on a dslr body.

It is all about the fieldcraft, get close, take the picture and as long as it is correctly exposed and composed it is a winner.Reckon you could use a coke bottle and a magnifying glass and still get awesome bird pictures, Jeff. Bravo!
No j.k it’s about smiling nicely and being able to talk birdy talk . ..It is all about the fieldcraft, get close, take the picture and as long as it is correctly exposed and composed it is a winner.
I do not have the patience or the fieldcraft to get close, so I just I just sit in wonder!
Enjoy the skills of others and improve if you can.

the voles the goal by jeff cohen, on FlickrHow you finding the camera, mate?
It's lovely, totally suitable for photography, ergonomics are great, no additional grip, balances well with the 24-120 and equally as good with a small prime. Probably get a cage at some point but waiting for something better than the small rig and tilta. How you finding the camera, mate?
I take it you've primarily bought it for video? I liked the idea of one for photography as a smaller second camera to go with the Z8 but I think I'd be better waiting to see if Nikon release a more stills orientated camera to rival the Sony A7C series. It's lovely, totally suitable for photography, ergonomics are great, no additional grip, balances well with the 24-120 and equally as good with a small prime. Just getting to grips with the R3D video files which are huge.
Fits into my small Wotan Craft pilot bag with the 24-120 attached which is a bonus.
I'm doing more video and got a couple of projects coming up but it also replaces a photography orientated camera. I can't see why Nikon would release anything else when they already have the Z5II and ZF. The other major reason I went this route is the screen, has to be seen to be believed, just stunning.I take it you've primarily bought it for video? Doesn’t look good at all really when it’s 7.1 at 105mm and the price is over £500.The new 24-105 looks a great addition to the line up, at first I thought why as they have the amazing 24-120 F4 but looking at the specs its almost half the weight at 350g and not too expensive which tends to happen on newly released lenses
It’s a kit lens and will probably be about £350 in real terms when sold with a Z5ii. I can see it struggling on the 47mp cameras unless in DX but the early reviewers seem to like it.Doesn’t look good at all really when it’s 7.1 at 105mm and the price is over £500.
To give a smaller body, Sony have many mirrorless cameras yet looking at some of the sales charts it's the A7C series which are their best sellers - the ZR is closer but the A7C cameras are still a good bit smaller than any Z-mount body.I'm doing more video and got a couple of projects coming up but it also replaces a photography orientated camera. bovver hover by jeff cohen, on FlickrPotentially interested in the 300 and tcHI all. Before I go to the effort of creating new for sale threads for the below items, I wanted to gauge if there was any interest in the below.
