I use Aperture on my Mac mainly, but if I'm messing around with a shot on my iPad/iPhone then I use Snapseed. You should try it on your iPhone (won't have to purchase again for iPad). It's a really intuitive piece of software and gets nice results. But overall, not to replace a Mac/PC for PP.
I love using my Tamron 18-270. I bought it especially for travelling but use it as my general, all round lens now. Would definitely recommend it and I'm rarely left thinking I've missed the shot because the lens wasn't up to the job.
Check out DaisyDisk on the Mac App Store, a beautiful and really efficient way to delete unwanted files you didn't even know you had on your hard drive. it's worth every penny.
Did you use the feature in Gallery where you sent specific people the secure link to view from their own computers? Or did you physically show them on the Mac/ iPad etc.
If you're actually there with them, why not use the Flickr plugin for Aperture and set the galleries as private, so only you...
I just wear my 60D over one shoulder and keep my hand on the strap. Sometimes I think it's safer because you know its either there or it isn't, with a bag it's harder to instantly realise. Usually just keep my camera bag in the hotel/hostel - especially if it's a busy city. Also, like to have my...

Ae you going to the Classic? I'm heading back with my 60D this year and I think I'm going to hire a 100-400 from lenspimp.... Got an 18-270 but I think I'd like a bit more range and well...they look cool!

You can get iPad CF readers on Amazon. You can upload RAW to iPad but as far as I know, you can't export as RAW. However, If all else goes tits up, I can deal with having high res JPEG instead of RAW!
If you're a Mac user, the skin smoothing brush on aperture would work well on this. Takes away things like this on portraits without making it look like it's been attacked with an airbrush!
