Terrible service from Park Cameras in Burgess Hill

Well today’s experience at Park Cameras was definitely my last. Approximately 6 weeks ago I pre-ordered a Canon R6 in person at the store and on Wednesday I received a call I was unable to take. I listened to the message left on my voicemail and it was to inform me that my camera was expected...

    Thinking of ditching the D700

And with that, you are missing the point. The NEX 7 with a 55-210mm lens such as the one available in it's range on a crop of half the image captured, will still carry more detail than the dx image found on a D700! i can't see that being a valid arguement you are putting forward? Look at the...

    Thinking of ditching the D700

The NEX 7 has a viewfinder, too. I'll be interested in how good it is. In response to your big lens comment, with 24mp at hand, on basically the same size sensor as a dx body, you could have a lets say 200mm lens, and when cropping half the size of the original image, it'll be the equivalent...

    Thinking of ditching the D700

I totally agree! Just because it's a smaller package, it doesn't mean it cannot be an acceptable alternative to a pro spec kit? One day, the way Sony are going now, and pushing ahead with mirrorless technology, could be the standard that everyone else follows. One day the need for a d3 or 1d...

    Thinking of ditching the D700

I did exactly the same yesterday. I was really surprised how well it performed. It's a lot smaller, lighter, and the images appeared really pleasing to the eye, with sharp detail, and depth of field looked shallow, too. Could Sony be teetering on the edge of the next new camera format...

    14/24 f2.8, 24/70 f2.8 or 70/200mm f2.8

I sold my 14-24 and bought the 16-35 f4. Not missing the 14-24 at all. I didn't like the idea of the filter and mounting kit costing £350.00 just to fit the 14-24. Just my 2p's worth.

    Dust inside lens

I wouldn't worry about it. it won't show up on your images.

    Nikon D3s Accessories

+1. Definately a waste using crap glass with a D3s

Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8 EX DG OS HSM

I looked at one the other day, however, it was for nikon, and what i really didn't like was that Sigma have left a little tongue sticking out of the rear of the lens meaning you cannot use a nikon 2X extender with it, so check that your canon one will fit

    Nikon p700 or canon g12?

Here's an image from the G12. Not bad for one of the first images from it. To give you an idea, that was taken in shady conditions, round my local lake, and was an insect (possibly a mayfly???) i found on the outer shell of my shelter.

    Nikon p700 or canon g12?

can't help you there, im afraid. I felt that the Nikon felt, and looked an older camera. The software, and menu searching for iso changes etc you have to go through an extra thumbwheel to get to some fundamental functions that are already to hand on the top of the canon. My advice, buy from...

    Nikon p700 or canon g12?

I had exactly the same choice a few months ago and last month I bought a G12. I find it's much quicker to navigate all around the important settings than the nikon and it gives really good images for a compact. I also like the fact it has a screen you can flip for composing shots, too. The two...

    Help me spend my bonus

Another one for the Giottos carbonfibre tripod! I currently have one and it's never let me down, is immaculate, but i have now got a Gitzo tripod, too, so the poor old Giottos is now redundant in the cupboard. Not cheap, but then good stuff never is! I only got the Gitzo as it was very very...
