Didn't know you could still buy 2gb hard drives. Might hold a few photos. Perhaps you mean 2 x 2tb hard drives.

Nature Photography and the 'Digital Debate'

I do enjoy a bit of photoshopping. Dodging and burning for example. But they were used in the film darkroom. It's also good the way that camera menus can be used to produce a reasonable jpeg. Or should we all shoot in RAW and simply do a bit of cropping, etc? What about those...

Upgrading from 350D to 30D or 40D? Which one?!

Given that the 50d was out and had some additional features, many chose the 40d simply because it represented the best value for money. I think the chip on the 40d is newer than the 30, also it has more pixels. John

First Time dSLR buyer. Which Camera?

I have the 450d and have enjoyed using it for nearly one year now. I would strongly recommend looking for a used camera in mint condition - can normally save 30%. A link to a 400d with two lenses (on another forum, you would have to register)...

    2nd hand prices- 350D and 40D?

I would expect a used 40d to sell for £400-450; or £500 with a battery grip. Low usage, in mint condition. John

40D RAW plugin for Photoshop CS

I have photoshop cs. I also have bought photoshop elements 7. However, you could use canon dpp program that come free with the camera. That would allow you to convert the raw files and do some processing prior to transfer to photoshop cs. John

    EXIF

Lisa, I have ZoomBrowser on the desktop along with the EOS Utility and DPP. When you open ZoomBrowser it will tend to open as a default in the Pictures directory. However, you can change the file location. A good piece of software, and for free!!! John

    Absolute Beginner

Here is an example of a Sony, plus two lenses on another forum. http://www.avforums.com/forums/digital-camera-camcorder-classifieds/1013037-sale-sony-a200-sigma-70-300-bargain-price.html It does look like good kit, but its a Sony and the seller seems to have problems in selling the brand...

    Which tripod

Alan, Generally speaking, with tripods you get what you pay for. Stability is a key factor. The red snapper brand has quite a large following. The tripod can be bought for £50, but you then have to buy a head. The three way head is £30. A link to their website...
