    Mass Watermarking

Is there any free program which will add a watermark to a batch of pictures in one go? I don't have photoshop or lightroom and use GIMP as my editing program, but can't seem to find a way on this to do it Any help gratefully appreciated

Which lens to keep an eye out for

Thanks for your replies. I do also have a 50mm 1.8, which is lovely for up close indoor pics, but I think it's gonna be a case of saving up. I have also been looking at the Sigma 50 - 150 2.8, which I think I could get away with focal length wise. Hmmmm, decisions decisions

Which lens to keep an eye out for

When dogs are running round a ring, I can be as far as 30 meters or so from them, so I guess I could shorten the focal length, but not by much

Which lens to keep an eye out for

sorry, it's another lens question :D I have a 550d, and reguarly (about 90% of the time) use a 55-250 lens, great outdoors, but indoors it's not so good. I like to shoot dogs, esp movement pics. I hired a 70 - 200 2.8L lens IS USM over the weekend and it was much better and I was able to get...

    Lens Hire & Which Lens

I have a couple of questions, so to put you in the picture, I will be going to Crufts next year, and would like to take some good shots indoors. Both of stationary and moving dogs, probably more moving shots than anything I have (& love) a Canon 550d, and 90% of the time use the 55 - 250...

    Dog shows

With all Kennel Club Shows, regardless of status, there is a rule about photography, which can differ slightly from show to show, so it's worth ringing the secretary of the show you're looking to go to to check that it is OK to take photographs. Usually you cannot take pictures of a particular...

    Aperture

WOW, thanks to everyone who's posted, makes a bit more sense to me now :) I'll go away, and have a practice and see if I can understand it more

    Aperture

OK, so I understand alot more about the different shooting modes on my 550D after reading the manual & lots of playing around and taking lots of pics. And tbh, I usually shoot in Shutter Priority or Manual. BUT, I struggle with understanding how to use the Aperture mode. I have been reading up...

Shutter speed help + Focusing on moving objects

I like shooting dogs on the move, I usually find putting it in the shutter priority mode first, then upping the iso till I'm happy with the picture. I'm a complete novice to using a DSLR, but learning all the time. I also set the camera to take contiuous shots, and have it in AI Servo mode...

    Focus On Movement

Wow Leftcurl, those shots are excellent, and what a little darling she is! Were both of these shot in Aperture mode? I was under the impression that Shutter Speed mode would be the one to use? **confused.com** lol Must add, I still haven't got my head round the Aperture mode yet, and still...

    Focus On Movement

thanks guys, I'm not going to worry too much about the composition of the image at the moment, but will have a go at using the center or bottom center focus point and trying following the subject with a higher shutter speed, fingers crossed

    Focus On Movement

Cheers HoppyUK, I have to say, with a SS of 1/500, I do get some parts of the dog very clear but the feet/legs or head might be a bit blurred. I shall be taking lots of pics over the weekend, so I'll have to post some up for a bit of feedback :) I'll have a search for tdodd, and have a look...
