Bought this off of ebay supposedly in great condition, and being ebay it obviously wasn't and the seller was a total naughty word. So this lens "in great condition" actually had very stiff focusing, numerous small scratches to the front elements, heavy marks to the coating on the rear...

I'd check to see if you have knocked the cpu cooler or pulled any of the power cables loose? when you say shuts down I assume you mean it's just a sudden loss of power? if so will it power back on immediately or do you have to wait?

looks fine to me, it's obviously an entry level body I'm just hoping they don't take too long to release a mid range body to compete with the nex 5n and panny g3/g5 as I can see myself switching to that if they price and spec it right.

you could try wiping the card with this http://www.roadkil.net/program.php/P14/Disk%20Wipe , I've used it a few times before when an sd card has been acting up and it's sorted it each time. Make sure you pick the right drive letter to wipe though ;)

could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the battery should have a dedicated charger and cannot be charged while in the camera.
