the 500d is a loverly camera, you won't be dissapointed. am just about to put one on the forem for sale. not sure what the difference to the 450 is but have had great results from mine. Oh by the way welcome!!:clap:

prices are about the same for the body but not sure on the lenses. I was looking at 5d with 24 - 105 but could not see a similar lens set to compare with on the nikon side.
