    Tonight's Watchdog

Our trade is not helped by people like this blatantly ripping people off with crap makeovers and photography then having the cheek to force people to pay a lot of money whilst threatening customers. Trading standards need to close them down I hope the bad publicity force them out of business.

    HELP !!! issues with Flash

Can't see the photos that you've posted but I hazard s guess the flash should be in TTL mode. That way the camera will control the flash output If you use the flash in manual mode you need to set an appropriate aperture with the shutter speed no faster than the sync speed.

Partly that but also the slight compression of perspective give a pleasing result

    Camera dilemma.

Having changed from a Nikon D3s to a D800 for the resolution the route I would go is the 1dx as the noise will be a lot better for what you want and unless you are blowing up to stupid sizes you won't notice a difference. The D800 has a significantly higher resolution but is not a patch noise wise.

Hand held below 1/500 not on a tripod it will act against the lack of vibration and cause blur.

    D300(s) grip options

I bought one off eBay for £25 new from Hong Kong including battery inserts for AA batteries and Standard battery. Wasn't expecting much but I think the quality is superb works perfectly and to be honest I cannot see how Nikon justify over £300 for theirs. Well recommended by me only had it a...

Bodies aside, are Canon beating Nikon with lenses?

Couldn't agree more been a Canon user for 29 years moved to Nikon only as I won a D3s in a competition. Any real photographer can get excellent pictures from anything including an old film slr ever heard the phrase all the gear and no idea? Also used to work in photographic retail and the amount...

    Depth of field

Depth of field is constant the thing that changes is subject movement if it is not static. Quality wise if you are using a tripod use the lowest ISO possible but the lens will perform best at f5.6 or f8.

Best Converter for my Tamron 70-200mm F/2.8

I think the sigma converters will be best as they are matched to give the best performance. Avoid cheap makes they will be a disappointment.

    Lens Help

Looking at recent tests the sigma os is as sharp if not sharper than the canon for half the price and considerably better than the canon f4.
