Thanks everyone for all your replies. But i now have another question i have seen that the 550d has a image stabiliser on the camera, so does this mean that you dont need to have image stabiliser on the lens. Sorry told you i was new and knew nothing!

Hi im going to the Masai Mara, will hopefully be shooting lions,wildebeasts,hippos, cheatahs etc. My budget is approx £500ish. I have thought about renting but not sure where to go for this as i have never rented before.
