    Filming fast action (motorsport)

Get your hands on some ND2, 4 and 8 filters (Neutral Density). These allow you to shoot at varied shutter speeds and exposure levels, but capture sharper movement with fast action or fast moving object.

In Camera Lens Flare (5D Mark II & L series lenses)

I've tried similar things with UV filters, but the results are too weak, or inconsistent for the directed glare that I'm trying to achieve. it would be easier or achieve an exact look in PP, however, I am trying to achieve the perfect mix or real and digital. Beyond that, it is a personal...

How do you do your Sound?

You'll find at 11mm, you're going to either have to invest in a 'slim line' filter holder for 4x4 filters, or even in a traditional ND Lens Filter. I would say though, that even at 17mm, I have terrible framing issues with my (admittedly chunky) Matte Box. I would suggest investing in a...

How do you do your Sound?

I agree on the quality on the NTG-1 vs. NTG-2, however, I have found a slightly more even / consistent tone in voice when shooting in controlled conditions with the NTG-1. I use the Zoom H4N so my sound / boom operator can work away from camera. Especially effective and useful when shooting a...

In Camera Lens Flare (5D Mark II & L series lenses)

I've been working on a project recently, where in I need to achieve high levels of lens flare (as per 'Star Trek', 'Transformers' and a hundred other Sci-Fi blockbusters of the last few years) through both in camera and post-production techniques. I'm currently using (to film this project) a...

    Flashguns for Studio Use?

To both points, I'm aiming a small-a-budget as possible, but I am looking for versatility and portability in use. I'm inclined to believe that going for a set of SB-600s would be most appropriate at this point. Any thoughts on second-hand SB-800s?

    Flashguns for Studio Use?

Starting a small home studio, already have some continuous lighting (via a dual Interfit Tungston 3200K Light Kit), but I'm looking for some flash guns to work along with some Hahnel Combi TF Remote RF Triggers/Receivers. My question; SB-400s, 600s or Jessops 360AFDs for a small budget...

How do you keep your filters?

I vote for a small phone case or a small padded memory card holder. Does the trick for me.

    Astrophotography?

I'm thinking about trying my hand at some low-end astrophotography. I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with it, or was experimenting with it as well. List of equipment, ideas and other useful facts would be handy. Thanks in advance.
