Is it worth buying a Tamron 70-200mm f2.8?

You make it sound so simple! Sadly I've already got a credit card that's nowhere near being paid off as I used to to tide myself over between jobs last year. I doubt my credit rating will be good enough to get a second card, hence having to go for the cheapest option at the moment :(

Is it worth buying a Tamron 70-200mm f2.8?

If only I had that sort of money to spare, haha! I'm hoping that the main stages will be well lit, but I'm not sure what the light will be like at night or in some of the smaller tents. I've also been asked to photograph festival-goers and get some general atmosphere shots, so this lens is...

Is it worth buying a Tamron 70-200mm f2.8?

Thanks so much for your help, everyone :) Good to know that I'm going down the right route with wanting a 70-200mm... Not so good to hear about the Tamron's focusing problems though! It certainly sounds like the Sigma will cope a lot better with low light and hopefully keep up with the speed...

Is it worth buying a Tamron 70-200mm f2.8?

I've been lucky enough to have been asked to photograph a major UK music festival this summer and since none of my current lenses are really up to the job, I've found myself in the market for a new one (any excuse!) After a bit of research I've now got my sights set on a Tamron 70-200mm f2.8...

    Nikon D7xxx owners thread

I couldn't agree more! My D7000 has served me incredibly well over the last 2 years, and I certainly don't see myself wanting to upgrade or sell it any time soon. Nikon's lenses definitely hold their value far better than any other brand, so I'm determined to save up and stick to what I know...

    Nikon D7xxx owners thread

Only just found this thread, so thought I ought to jump on board :) Considering I got my D7000 for around £950 when it first came out, it really is frustrating to see how much they've come down in price now! As you said Michael, shame the lenses aren't getting any cheaper! If Nikon were to...

    Camera sling straps?

I'm in exactly the same position! I've had my eye on a Crumpler Singapore Sling for a while, but now I'm starting to wonder if I should go for a Black Rapid instead, after hearing everyone raving about them...!

    Lens Rental

Brilliant, cheers :) I've already Googled a few places, but wanted to know if anyone had personally had a good experience, rather than just browsing website after website! It's reassuring to know that you've used them before without any problems though, Chris.

    Lens Rental

Don't suppose anyone can recommend somewhere in the London/ Surrey area that rents lenses at a reasonable price? I'm really hoping to get my hands on a Nikkor 17-55mm f2.8 for a shoot that I'm doing on Friday, as I can't really afford to invest in one of my own just yet! Thanks in advance :)

No worries :) I didn't realise the NEX-C3 had come down in price so much... Mine was about £350! It really is a great little piece of kit though. Let us know what you decide to get!

Daily A growing up 365! Completed!!

I've only just come across this thread, but it's safe to say I'm now hooked! So many great photos and as everyone else has said, he's absolutely gorgeous :) I'm sure those big brown eyes will break a few hearts when he's older!

I'm not much of an expert on CSCs but speaking from experience, I have a Sony NEX-C3 which has served me well so far. It produces great results on auto settings with the kit lens... Which seems really strange when you're used to DSLRs! It also copes really well in low light, which means that...

    Lens Quandary Tamron f2.8 17-50 vs 28-75

Would be great to see the results! I've got my heart set on a Nikkor 17-55mm but since my budget won't stretch to that at the moment, it's starting to sound like I might be shopping for a Tamron 17-50mm soon as well...
