Have seen that (including a demo video on YouTube) and it seems reasonable quality however it still needs a cable that plugs into the side of the camera. I guess if the portrait mode is important to you go for it. If you do it would be interesting to hear your views on it.
I've looked at the ones on eBay and Amazon but held back as the whole cable thing looks messy. Unfortunately I don't think nikon will release one for the d3100/3200 so unless a 3rd party developer gets round it I'm out

Slightly off topic but interested in your comment about the Redsnapper as there's a few recommendations on here for them and I was looking at getting one. Why are you unhappy with it?
I'd have to agree with other people here maybe better going for some new glass especially as you only have the stock 18-55mm lens. Any particular style you're interested in so the good people on here with far more experience than me can advise you of some or other kit to spend your budget on.
