    Multiple exposure

I tried a kind of multiple exposure a number of years ago (by photoshopping images together as I didn't have a camera capable of doing multiple exposures!) http://stillsport.zenfolio.com/p249238046/hb5c5a6b I was quite impressed by my first effort. I think that being a bit more side on...

    Costco Printing

I decided to take the chance. Wanted to get a batch of images printed just as a test. As my screen at home is not currently calibrated, I opted to use the in-store kiosks, as SURELY these would be? Well ... corrected the images for brightness on the screen and sent it to go. 2 days later (quite...

    Costco Printing

Hi All, Has anyone ever use Costco for printing? We have a new branch down the road from us and prices are very good. Used tesco / jessops before for things we needed within a few days (mostly 6x4, occasionally 10x8 and 12x8), but the quality was often hit and miss (more often 'miss' and...

Monopod foot - someone must know!!

Thanks for the advise andrew. This is something I'd thought of, but didn't know whether it would be any good. I found a company a few miles away who do walking stick ends etc. Popped down, and he gave me 4 as free 'samples' - very nice guy. I found some old metal washers which are slightly...

Monopod foot - someone must know!!

Hi, We have 2 Manfrotto Monopods, the 680B and 679B. They both have the basic rubber feet. Only problem is that on the one, the metal pole has completely broken through the rubber so that when used, the metal from the pod is resting on the floor - not ideal! The other one is well worn too...

    Sports Photography

Paul, If you haven't used a 400mm f2.8 before, I would highly recommend that you hire one and try it out before investing the money in one. Also, if you use a 400mm f2.8 for rugby (or any other pitch-based sport) then you will definitely need a shorter lens (70-200mm) on a second body to...

Does this exist - hot shoe mounted fan?

@terryt that is an absolutely fantastic shout! Working in the heat is a real issue for me. I sweat like Andy Roddick and getting it in my eyes is totally distracting when I have my face pressed up against the camera. Sweat bands help, but a fan would solve the underlying problem, rather than...

Does this exist - hot shoe mounted fan?

It would not need to be powered by the hot shoe, it would just need to be mounted to the camera somehow. Perhaps on the hot shoe or even on a flash bracket I suppose.

Does this exist - hot shoe mounted fan?

By poolside I mean at all the British Swimming events I cover. I am a working sports photographer and would certinly not take my camera with me on holiday!

Does this exist - hot shoe mounted fan?

I've had a search on Google, but haven't come up with anything. What I would like is a small battery powered fan (like a travel fan) that I could mount on the hot shoe of my camera. This would be great in the hot weather or on poolside. Has anyone ever come across a product like this...

To all you top sports photographers......

I doubt there are many sports photographers who have 1 chosen sport anymore! Apart from a very small minority, I would suggest that most sports photographers do not have the luxury of choosing a particular sport to cover. In reality they will try and cover as many different sports as possible in...

Ruggers - fill me in :)

I have been following the Loughborough Students' National League Div 2 North side for a couple of seasons now. Here are the tips I can offer: End of the pitch: I favour standing just past the try line corner flag. I will usually spend some time between the posts, but in general I have had...
