Some absolutely fantastic pix on here mate .... your manage to capture some great images from some pretty boring subject matter ..... how do you find the time ...
anyway ... I have no excuses ... even when stuck indoors.
Cheers for the inspiration.
From what I can work out its called a load plate .... I dont remember the board having it.
Certainly I wouldnt have removed it .
Dont know if it can be replaced
Not sure what hes talkin about .... lol
Think its the part from your earlier link ... will need to try a find one ... and one that will attach to the board without to much bother.
Thanks for your help BTW
Well I have to say I just assembled an AMD Phenom x6 and it didnt have anything like this.
And as a 43 year old who has been building PCs on and off over the years I`ve never saw this until now.
Cpu was put in socket then the little lever was pulled back and secured to hold in place...
Have looked into it .... and it seems its normal when off camera .
Sounds like quiet maracas .... lol .
Never noticed before ... If I hold the lens horizontal and twist gently in my hand I hear it .
But have read elsewhere that its the norm.
BTW I have an A700 and an A77
Thanks
Dont have the bits anymore .... I put it together 3 years ago ... and sent the bits boxed taken out as one ... mainboard ,cpu with fan and memory .
So I cant actually remember how it looked under the heatsink.
Thanks
I had this CPU and board running for 3 years everyday without a problem .. I sold it at send it just as it was put together the day I bought it.
Not all boards have this part.
And if it was there and not meant to come off ... It would still be on it.
