I'm after some advice on the best tripod/head to go for. I'm shortly going to be doing some simple portrait shooting of sports players. I did this last year and found after a short period my arms were giving in on me - such a weakling!. I vowed to get a tripod sorted in time for this year...

Aha! Sorted! Completely forgot that even within standard in picture control, you can still go in and tweak the settings. The difference was in there - my D3 was different in that section. All sorted - thanks for the quick replies guys!!

I have a Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 which I picked up second hand on here last year for £190. Fantastic lens, pin sharp on everything i've used it for. Not sure if that would be wide enough for you though?
