Yep. However, not all Canon lenses come with hoods, but L-Series do.

Ideally, I wouldn't use them at all. Like Raptor Mike, I use them specifically for protecting the lens from flying stones/debris....a very real hazard when photographing rallycars. Much cheaper to replace a filter than a lens element! I reckoned Tiffen were a cheaper filter. The Hoyas I use...
