Thanks for that Phil it's appreciated. I've been flicking through the Exposure triangle and I think I'm starting to understand it now, (Finally)
Chris those shots are awesome. I'll keep practising with what you've said and hopefully it'll all start to click into place :)
Thanks I'll try and break down what I was / am trying to achieve with the pics. Ignore the 3rd picture I posted that was a snapshot so wasn't thought out.
The pic of the P reg black Celica was taken purely to try and emphasise the look of the car itself, so yes you're right in the concept...
That could be it actually yes (P,S,A and M are marked up I was using the A) so after looking into it yes that was the right one.
I wasn't using vivid settings intentionally I was speaking to a friend who is a professional photographer but for music gigs etc and she suggested it as apparently...
Thanks folks I'll have a quick look and see what I can learn,
Grabbed this pic today, I tried getting into the more scary world of manual modes etc then I realised I'd had the settings sent to Vivid which was sending the camera into fits :(
After a few tweaks on the camera itself I've...
That's great thank you :)
I'm out with a few friends tomorrow with different colour cars so I may well give them a go then report back :)
I knew a black car was a bad idea haha
I understand that and yeah you're right. I'm certainly no pro photographer but there's only one way to learn :)
So just to confirm, The higher the aperture number the more blurred the background or have I got it the wrong way round again?
Thanks
Ok cheers. I'm only just starting to get into the world of photography. Could someone point me in the direction please of where I can find an explanation as to DoF as that's something I read about a lot.
Light painting is that the technique where you set a long shutter speed and shine a...
Hi there I'm hoping that someone could be able to help me if possible
I've been into photography for a few years now but never really understood it all. Anyways I bought a D3000 and having just looked on the Ken Rockwell site it appears that the camera's not too good at all.
I understand...
Hi I'm also new to ohotography and I have a nikon D3000 camera. It cost 350 from Jessops although they had a sony on at 299 but I was told the nikon is a better place to start. I've found the guide mode feature handy as you can set it to pretty much exactly what you want and can adjust it...
Hi not a problem at all. I'd go out on a whim here and say don't get a foam topped mattress straight away you'd be better off getting a normal pocket sprung mattress. There's a company called Millbrook beds that we used to sell that used to make mattresses specifically to what people want so I'm...
Hi I'm only new to the forum but figured I'd give my 2 cents worth on here.
I used to sell beds / mattresses for a living and I've found memory foam to be over rated. As long as it's a mattress with a memory foam topper you'll be ok but you need at least 3cm of memory foam to feel it working...
thanks for the welcome folks.
I went out to currys today and treated myself to a nikon d3000 as a beginner's camera. I've been led to believe it's a good camera for beginners and hopefully it'll enable me to get the confidence to have a go myself rather than with the guide mode setting it...
