I ordered a genuine battery from Jacobs website on Monday.. it arrived yesterday. No dispatch notification or anything! I am shocked - I thought they were in short supply and even the website said 14 days.

Yep, black camera arrived today! Not one bit disappointed - by the time the thing had charged I could take indoor photos only.. but that was a good test as it's clearly such a huge improvement over my beloved GF-1! I can use ISO 800 without a second thought, and even 1600 is usable with noise...

Well.. Jessops said 28th May for black and silver, so I went into central London for a trawl. Nobody had anything, but then I spotted Amazon had some black kits in stock! Just waiting for the dispatch email now :D

Bah, wish I'd ordered with Amazon! Still waiting for my Jessops order.. and checking round every day here there and everywhere to look for leads on anything. I want the silver kit which is part of the issue - I had the chance to buy a black kit the other day but passed it up.

I'd go for the Amazon deal if I didn't need an invoice date before the end of the tax year. I have a pre-order with Jessops that I didn't make until March 1st so I'm not sure if I'm going to manage it anyway. Tempted to go with Amazon anyway in case the Jessops one doesn't make it in time and...

The prints finally showed up today.. no reply from DSCL to my email at all, and no postmark on the package so I have no idea if the parcel I received is one that was shipped last week, or one that was "oh whoops!" shipped yesterday after my email! Still, I have the prints.. I can stop stressing :)

Yeah, I'm sure it is just Royal Mail being crap, and hopefully not their fault. Just typical it should happen when I try a new supplier - Sams' prints never got lost in the post but I'm sure that's down to luck really!! The order wasn't large enough (nor profitable enough) to justify courier...

Unfortunately it'll take more than a few hundred pounds for it to be worth the saving I'll make by getting it before the tax year is out. If demand is high then prices aren't likely to fall any time soon either, and I need two bodies sooner rather than later! I wish I knew of any reputable...
