    Fisheye...what to buy????

Please share! I've been eyeing up fish eye lenses for just getting a cheap (£30) fisheye camera which doesnt look as great (but that kinda makes it look... great lol).

    Tamron 80-210mm F4.5-5.6 AF

if you're pretty new.. for £40 you cant go wrong for a zoom lens like that! gives you more to experiment with and find out what you prefer (primes... low zooms or telephotos). bite the bullet and do it if you arent worried about cash :)

First DSLR purchase advice on lenses required

starting with a 55-xxx is pretty restricting imo. you'll want to drop down to 18 with the other lens alot to start with to get that width.

    17-85mm versus 50mm f1.8

You need to try a 50mm and you will see the draw to them! Prime's can be restricting but only in terms of zoom!

Really wanted to get a light trail or two in here but it didn't happen

Just get hold of a remote and fire it off on a timer just before you drive off. Pull a quick U-ey and grab ur gear when its done :P

    Canon 50mm 1.4 or Sigma 50mm 1.4

Interesting how a third party can make a lens better than the camera manufacturer! Always makes me question what goes in to building a lens that two similar lenses can have such a difference in image quality. Let us know how you get on with the Sigma!

    Canon 50mm f1.8 v f1.4

I've had this but i've got used to the fixed zoom on it. I now find because i use my 50mm so much, i rarely zoom on my other lenses and just tend to move my position rather than zoom.

    Which Prime?

I'd shoot for the 50mm f1.4 (especially over the 1.8). insane depth of field will give you some solid portraits! the extra ££ is worth the 0.4 F stop!

    Lens Cleaning

I've recently discovered my beloved 17-80mm nikkor lens has some dust problems. But here's the issue - it's on the inside of the glass. Both ends of the lens are clean on the outside, but this dust is on the inside of the large bit of glass at the end of the lens. I have no idea how it got in...
