Above shutter speeds of around 1/200 you need high speed sync. This is where the flash puts out a controlled series of flash pulses to prevent the dark curtain effect. As far as I know this can only be done with Speedlights that have HSS as an option.
Doesn't specifically say but it looks like it with have to be sent back to Hong Kong for any warranty claims. Others, such at DigitalRev, have arrangements for warranty claims to be dealt with in the UK.
I had two Sandisk CF cards gives occasional errors in my 7D which would clear if I turned it off and back on again. Sandisk swapped them for two replacements and my problem disappeared and, yes, they were genuine.
Get to know a friendly developer lol. They don't put beta versions on general release. That happens a little while after the GM version gets seeded to developers.
