AF confirm on adapter - what does it mean?

Ah, thanks greatly for that info. I was maddeningly confused, as none of my lenses had 'auto-focus' which is quoted (wrongly it seems) on various products. I think I will probably shell out the extra funds to get one with the chip. Thanks :)

AF confirm on adapter - what does it mean?

I'm thinking about purchasing an adapter for my Olympus OM lenses, to fit on a Canon 550D. The thing is, some of them have 'AF Confirm' chips on them, some dont, with a noticeable price difference between them. What I want to ask is, what does the chip actually do? Lenses: Olympus OM 50mm...

    Developing damaged film?

Costco said flat out NO, as it screws up the solution for other people. I asked if they could do mine as a 'last-of-the-bunch' job (ie just before changing solns.) but they refused that too on the grounds that the staff rota changes so often they couldnt be assed keeping tabs on it. (My...

    Developing damaged film?

Basically my camera got wet (very wet), and some of that moisture penetrated into the camera itself. I don't really know the extent of the damage of the film (if in fact there is any) but I know for a fact that after a few exposures it would not wind on at all. My local Costco (where I...

101 ways to ruin a roll of film

One I have heard about (Although actually quite skeptical myself) from a mate, he didn't 'think' he had finished his film, yet his rewind was 'abnormally stiff'. A heck of a lot of strength later, it advances, but only after the film ripped off the canister thing. So he couldnt rewind it...

Poll: Do you develop yourself or send your negs off?

Want to dev my own but I just don't have the time nor space to do it. I drop my rolls off at Costco, they can usually get it done within an hour or two, results are reasonable.

Using old lenses on new hardware?

Basically, I currently have an Olympus OM-10 SLR, which as you might know is a 35mm film camera. I have 3 lenses that were made for the OM-X line of camera's. I am considering picking up a Canon 550D or similar, as I would like a digital SLR. What I am wondering, is could I use those old...

    Taking film through airports

I can't remember exactly but some boffins in a laboratory did tests with various film brands, ISO's and number of passes. If its not high ISO marked then it should last a good 10 or so blasts (although I doubt you would be making that many anyway - transfers usually dont have to go through...

    UPS

UPS have delivered all my parcels (whether to me or from me) very fast, although admittedly I don't tend to use them much. Customer service, depending on who you get, can be a bit hit-and-miss but I wouldn't not reccommend UPS if thats what you're after.

    DVD box sets recommendations?

Numb3rs was a series I (surprisingly) got into, Don't know if "Crimes involving maths" floats your boat though (even though a lot of the time its fairly understandable.) Spooks is currently my favourite 'crime' series (if it can be defined as such), it has a more personal storyline to each...

Can't get it all in? Then do a pano.

Really nice first shot, might consider pano's myself in the future. Nice second shot too by the way :)

101 ways to ruin a roll of film

Hmm, never had flashgun problems nore the dial moving accidentally. The adaptor to the front I will admit is not the greatest of idea's.

101 ways to ruin a roll of film

I probably don't know much about camera's anyway, but the only camera I have is an OM-10 and I have yet to do anything stupid with it (read above, it was my friend who messed up). How come you don't like it?
