as an owner of a D2xs (as my backup body) I would honestly say a D300s would be far preferable. It's just newer technology and generally better. The only places the D2xs seems to exceed it are battery life and weatherproofing.

The 10.5 is the best fish for the DX nikon cameras. 16 just looks like a wide angle with bad distortion. You can also check out the tokina 10-17mm which gets good reviews. There is a sigma 10mm but I've never used it. these are all shot with the nikon 10.5...

Yea, I agree - that is pretty horrible. Can't say I've noticed it using mine (although I don't use it very often). It looks a lot like the bokeh mess you get when you use filters on some lenses though?

for canon 1.6x sensors the pick of the bunch up until now has been the tokina 10-17mm fisheye zoom. I guess the new canon 8-15mm will be even better. sigma 8mm will vignette on anything - this sucks unless you want it? A 15mm fisheye on canon 1.6x cameras will just produce ugly slightly...

check out Dan Carr's blog for some good info on the bags - specifically the new one, the Loka which looks to be a winner. I have some friends who have the bigger packs and I consider them a bit too big really. I currently use a Burton zoom pro which is great - holds 2 pro bodies, 17-35, 24-70...

I would happily swap my D2Xs for a D300 any day of the week haha. I pretty much only use it as my fish eye camera now anyway though.
