You could always try hiring a lens for the week through one of the 3 main places. Would be cheaper than an outright buy, and you'd be able to see if you'd made the right choice. Just my 2p. :-)
Thanks for all the replies - reading the reviews on Amazon it can be a proper pain getting them to accept student credentials and supply a key code - will let you know how I get on.
Thanks again.
I'm in the lucky position of being an OU student so I can purchase either of these. LR3 is 49.99 and LR4 is 59.99
Haven't done a lot of PP apart from playing a bit with CS4 I was given from a mate.
Before parting with my cash - opinions please.
Thanks in advance
Ruby
I'll ask them when I'm in work next whether it would be possible/feasible/safe. Obviously I couldn't let you know until after the fact or else the crews would be in trouble for having given advance notice of the event. :)
As a C-17 wingspan is only 40feet more than a Herc.....
I got on well with the 55-200 on my D5000 - even with moving objects (aircraft). It's SO much lighter than my 70-300VR too. It's a really handly lens to have and I wish I hadn't had to sell mine to fund the 70-300 purchase. Quite a few picks on my Flickr were taken on the 55-200.
My wife's laptop HD is getting a bit bunged up so had a clearout. iTunes music is eating a chunk of the C: drive - there's heaps of space on the D: drive.
Question - can I just move the iTunes music folder straight to the D: drive and allow iTunes to find wher the music is or will that screw...
Well, a court in Florida (IIRC) has decreed that the law is now on the statute books that pants (trousers) are to be worn correctly - not revealing undergarments. The "YOOF" can get pulled up (pardon the pun) by the local law enforcement...
I just did the 100 mile round trip to Norwich to collect mine today (£303.99). The downside is that it doesn't fit in my LowePro TLZ bag so the savings I made will have to go towards a new bag (as well as paying for the fuel!) :)
Oh yeah, and it's quite a heavy piece of glass too!
I just got a Nikon one from the Norwich branch for £303 (incl the 20% off), pity about the 100 mile round trip though. I think what I saved I paid out in fuel. :-) The downside is that any saving I made will have to be reinvested in a new camera bag...
I have a D5000 with (currently) 55-200 AF-S VR. It doesn't have quite enough reach sometimes so now I have some spare cash do I get the 70-300 which I've read some great reveiws on or do I get the 55-300 AF-S VR II?
I do nature/aircraft/transport mostly.
thanks
