Agree, with pretty much all of what has been said above, you will find most of the models that are actively looking for shoots on pretty much all of the sites. Therefore find one where you like the format, both Purestorm and Purpleport are good, just one word of warning, the forums on Purestorm...

I have had the CX-660 for many years now and can't fault it as like you I don't use it very often. Seems very stable and have used it at several public events etc without a problem.

Have to agree also use Eneloops and they are fantastic, but have also just purchased a Godox PB820 powerpak to use with my 580MkII for those longer sessions where a quick recycle time is needed :).

Well I get around 400 on a 16Gb card shooting RAW and JPG together, avg. image size is around 23Mb in RAW. Hope that's some help.

I used a set identical to this a couple of weeks ago and after around 4 hours shooting, one of the lights went up in a rather dramatic puff of smoke. They seemed okay whilst working for the money (although flash output noticeable varied between some shots), therefore I would not recommend them...

I agree, I have the 24-105L on my 7D and love it, great lens, but depends what you shoot mainly, what you gain at the wide end on the 17-55 you lose much more on reach.

I bought Some of the Ilford Galerie paper today and paid £12 each for a twin pack (50 sheets) of Smooth Gloss and Smooth Pearl, seemed good value to me :), Was on the Premier Ink and Photographic stand.

I'm kind of in the same dilema, not really in the market for anything new but interested just to go and have a look at whats on offer and maybe attend a seminar or 2, as not been before. The £40 petrol and £10 parking will be far more than any saving I will make so not really worth it from that...

Hi Daniel, I have exactly the same set up as you i.e. 7D and the 24-105L and all I can say is that I find the lens to be very quiet in operation (sometimes wonder if the IS is actually working) and extremely sharp even when pixel peeping. Therefore if others have confirmed issues with the lens...
