I have the 18-70 and now have the Tamron 17-50 VC. The Tamron is a great lens and good upgrade, but the Nkon is also really nice. If you need low light or more bokeh then it's very nice to have that option.
I have an Epson printer and to get originals is sooo expensive. I get 3rd party from 365ink, very good quality and not had a problem with them, been using them for about 2 years now.

according to this link, about 95% of the worlds cash machines are still running XP and saw somewhere else that it is expected to a few years before they are upgraded.
as you mentioned WMP network sharing this is known to cause high CPU usage according to some Google searches, also found this if it will help to disable it:
