    Tamron 17-50 zoom ring stuck

I took my 150-600 in for repair, first class and quick service. I’ve no complaints at all.

    Sensible solution for airshow/spotting.

@snerkler I use the Nikon 80-400mm (early version) and Tamron 150-600mm and get sharp photos throughout the range. I posted a photo further up the page which was Tamron with the Tamron G1 at 600mm – hope that is of some help Oops should have read taken with the Tamron

    Sensible solution for airshow/spotting.

If it’s any help, I use a Tamron 150-600 on my D300S and get reasonable results – attached for example (hand held) DSC_9337 Red Kite by Paul Judge, on Flickr

    Nikon D750 & D780

Only had my 750 a month – brilliant camera but of course I don’t have to remind you. Haven’t seen any small birds in the garden for months, so today a couple arrived and naturally I had the wrong lens attached, Sigma 105 macro. No time to change lenses as they had gone within five minutes...

    Heritage Motor Museum - Gaydon

I have used flash on several occasions and never had a problem. The last time I was there it wasn’t very busy and they didn’t object to me using a tripod. Typical for a museum, everything is crammed in tightly but still well worth a visit or two.

    "camera"

What a happy little girl. (We spent the next hour teaching her to go "yay" when we said "Nikon" and "bluhh" when we said "Canon". ) So nice to see parents bringing children up the right way.

Best way to transfer negatives to digital

I used an Epson Perfection V500 to scan about 5 thousand B&W and colour negs and transparencies both 35mm & medium format. I also scanned a few hundred prints. They came out very well considering a lot of the pictures were rubbish in the first place.:) It took a long time but doing it a couple...
