Upgrade from kit lens: Tamron 17-50 2.8 Non VC?

Cheers. Sounds like it's the lens I need. Will search 2nd hand market for good price. Found it new on DigitalRev for £230 which looks a great price.

Upgrade from kit lens: Tamron 17-50 2.8 Non VC?

Cheers Andy, not looked at the 15-95 before so will check it out. I'm going to Focus on Sunday (first time) so will see if I can get some hands on time with the Tamron. Might even pick one up if there is a good deal.

Upgrade from kit lens: Tamron 17-50 2.8 Non VC?

Nice one. Certainly think the upgrade is the way to go then. After looking at some threads on the board, seems like it may be worth investing in the VC version aswell. Lots of reviews say non-vc, but real world use would appear not to be much different.

Upgrade from kit lens: Tamron 17-50 2.8 Non VC?

Thanks Ernesto. I do find the 50mm a stronger lens than kit. Also the situations you mention will make the upgrade worth it.

    Canon EOS 7D Owners Thread

Thanks for your help. Just gear lust I guess, although thinking the switch to full frame might be handy. After looking further, i think your right the 7D doesnt offer me enough benefits go justify the spending. Got a mixture of EF and EF-S lenses. Need a better standard walk around lens first as...

    Canon EOS 7D Owners Thread

Hi. I currently use a 550D. It's 2 years old now and I feel like I want to move onto more serious hardware. Would you recommend the 7D as a worthy upgrade or more of the same. Generally shoot landscapes, generic travel/city images.
