I have to admit to being really indecisive with kit back in the analogue days although it was always with secondhand cameras, sometimes people just don't quite feel comfortable with what they have and if they want to spend their quids on hardware then so be it but I get your point especially...
Impulse buys are always the best :) Nice camera that 200, never owned one but seriously thought about it and a mate had one and was chuffed to bits with it so you could have chosen worse!
I have a Crumpler backpack (think its the Brian's Hot Tub model) whilst not perfect it is very well made, doesn't look like a typical camera bag and you access equipment via the back section i.e the bit thats against your back when you're wearing it.
Canon UK were once very helpful with a concern of mine regarding a lens which was only a fairly cheap secondhand lens, I was quite impressed with their reply so it might be worth speaking to them?
I would expect that sort of thing with older technology but maybe Canon will be able to give you...
I used to work there years ago, don't forget that as with cars for example they'll want to make a profit on your old camera since it'll be their money tied up in it whilst it sits on a shelf, they advertise it and demonstrate it to potential customers and they'll have to offer a warranty with that.
Had the mk2 some years ago and recently bought a mk1, really nice lens its cheap, fast and superb quality what more could you want? (apart from USM...oh and the return of the mk1 design which is much better)
Might also be worth keeping an eye on a Mamiya C220 & C330s on ebay if you can stretch to a bit more.
You sure going with medium format as your first film camera is a wise thing? just wondering how you'll get on with handling roll film and getting films proccessed rather than going for 35mm.
