With a tripod you're less likely to get away with it. I've heard them coming over the tannoy to admonish people using them before. Baker Street is quite good because you have a good mix of types of platforms and trains in the station and the circle line stop is one of the first underground...

I've got a 18-50 and have been pretty pleased with it, especially at the price. The 17-50 gets good reviews too. I suppose it comes down to budget and how much OS would be useful.

Thanks, I wonder if the gopro3 will have continuous recording on a loop so it could double as a dash cam, I know the 2 didn't but it would just help allowing me to justify one.

Is the 4k mode usable at 12 fps or is it just there to grab the headlines?
