Any other Pentax users out there getting excited?

Hey Guys, I managed to get hands on with one yesterday; some thoughts of mine here if you are interested!

Aperture Books - Image Prep Tips

Cheers guys, great tips. I remember being very happy with the quality from before. I must admit, personally, I'm not convinced by these more expensive albums, having viewed a couple at my wedding photographers. They're all huge, with odd covers which make the things really thick! From what I...

Aperture Books - Image Prep Tips

Hey all, Does anyone have any experience with appropriate image adjustments to get the best of the Aperture Photobook service? Although I can PDF Proof, its not quite the same as someone who has had several printed, and has some tips as a result. I have used them once before, and...

sigma 10-20mm any good for me

UWA lenses need to be carefully thought about in terms of scene composition. They can give a very powerful effect, but its not automatic - read this. I find mine most effective when I have something in the foreground, and I want to show a lot of the background too, e.g. an impressive vista...

    Pentax K 01 anyone?

I got mine in the fire sale and haven't looked back. It really is a very high quality sensor, with excellent image quality. And ironically (and I'm not sure why really), it seems to work better with both my Metz flashes compared to my K-30! I don't find composing on the LCD a problem at all...

Any other Pentax users out there getting excited?

Likewise I'm hoping for significant auto-focus improvement, especially in the tracking department. Otherwise will have to consider stopping investing in Pentax APS-C gear and investigate other options (e.g. D600 - although still yet to be convinced!) If the rumoured spec list is true, and the...

Alternatively if they're not in frame, you could overpower the ambient, gel your flashes with a half green filter, and it'd match the strip lighting.

What lighting set up would you guys use for this scenario?

Strobist Blog has some good tips on large group portraits. Some of them really large. Personally, I've just bounced off the ceiling before. Don't think it went badly: Royston Intensive Group Portrait by Pheo, on Flickr If you've only got 12 people, then I wouldn't be too concerned. Only...

stand for off cam flash at wedding

Not used one at a wedding yet, but I have two cotswold photography (ebay) double fold stands which pack up really tight. They are quite flimsy though, so if you think its going to be at risk of being knocked, I personally have one of their air-cushioned studio stands to use instead.

lamp (bulb) for spotlight at wedding

What's the venue lit with? Balanced bulb to that, so then the camera's white balance can work correctly, is likely your best bet. Also, probably need it brighter than you think... one 60w ES is going to be challenging potentially. (especially given I'm not sure you can get 100w bulbs anymore?)

Old Pentax PK manual focus lenese, which body?

Pentax K30 if you can get one, or a K50, would give excellent results for excellent money (weather sealed, best in class ISO performance, inbuilt shake reduction). Also if they are PKA it'll meter correctly and allow camera controlled aperture as well. Did you have a budget in mind?

    Best Stand-Mount for Speedlight+Brollybox?

Figured it out, example and parts list here for future reference for everyone on the interwebs! http://www.fosterphotography.co.uk/?p=1556 They sell the same mount but with a Bowens style attachment on the front, which I believe could also provide a rear mount for something like a westcott...
