It halted at random places so I replaced my firewire cable as had this as long as the scanner. I also switched the firewire driver in Windows to Legacy. This resolved alot of the halting. I then found that it would halt if the computer went to sleep so I have now also created a new power profile...

I am not aware of any other 400 ISO transparency film left on the market. Its left to pushing a film.

I own & use the Wolf Faust IT8 targets with Vuescan for all my slide shots, and been pleased with the results. I used the Vuescan idiots guide to create the profile so will try this out to see what difference it makes.
I will also take a look at Scarse.
I had a Nikon V until moving to the Minolta DiMage multi pro. It will do strips of 6 however I found the loader sometimes to be very frustrating to use as I had to try and feed a strip several times before it was accepted.
Also I was using to mainly scan slide and imo the way it fed the film...
Very interesting and would also like to see all your vuescan settings & PS adjustments step by step.
I tried some Rollei IR film last year, and gave up on scanning as was not happy with the end results.
As Jim points out scanning film requires a lot of time & patience, so may be worth considering paying someone else to do it unless you have a lot of time on your hands.
Either way I would suggest you look to cut down the number by reviewing all & only selecting the ones you really want.
I use an OM4ti. I also have a OM10 that was handed down by my grandfather. The only downside to the OM10 is that you cannot interchange the focus screens, which is very useful when moving into the world of telephoto or macro lenses. The added benefit with the OM4ti is that TTL exposure still...
