    Testing old Rodinal (early 80s)

I have a bottle of Rodinal which I think is from the early 80s, so it's probably about the same age as me. I ran a test film through my camera just now, and used my usual 1:25 dilution in my Rondinax tank, 6 mins and 5 min fix, then wash. As you can see, it's come out perfectly fine. There's a...

    A big film scanner thread

That’s cool but I don’t have a DSLR, I only like obsolete and impractical cameras

    A big film scanner thread

Whoops I forgot to add text! Here’s my Primefilm 7600pro munching through a roll. It takes 1.5hrs for a 24exp roll at full resolution with a pre scan and autofocus for each frame. Really not bad especially as it does it all itself. No alignment issues at all, it just works. Typical result:

OFFICIAL I HAVE A NEW (FILM RELATED) TOY THREAD!!

My new Aires 35-IIIc. The lens is fantastic and the camera is smooth and solid. I shot a test roll yesterday - just stuff around the house.

    Grain: Analog Renaissance

I think film cameras are lovely to use but the developing/scanning/printing I guess can be a faff. I’ve never tried printing and have recently sorted a very easy and fast developing and batch scanning system which makes it all very easy. For those of us who didn't grow up with it, I think it’s a...

    Grain: Analog Renaissance

Thanks. I watched it the other day and quite enjoyed it. Maybe it's just me but I find these amateur documentaries frustrating too because of the lack of an overall narrative and seemingly random flow, and lots of repetition. The music was frequently too loud over the dialogue, too. But what am...

    A big film scanner thread

I’ve just got back into film. I stopped due to hating scanning but I had another crack at it and I’ve got a Primefilm 3600pro which does a whole roll in one go and seems pretty decent. Very happy, looking forward to getting stuck in again and not having to worry about manually scanning and using...

Best place to get films processed and scanned.

I’ve been getting back into film and recently sent a test roll to Photohippo. Not bad, but the scans were very contrasty. Ive since picked up a batch scanner which has already proven better and I haven't experimented with it yet.

    My Braun Super Paxette project

I'm really happy with how they turned out. The 50mm Quinon lens is great, very sharp indeed and has nice contrast. I think the slower speeds came out slightly darker than expected, possibly the speeds are a little fast (although don't they normally go slow?) or (more likely) the built in...
