    Identifying Canon Focus Screens

Ok thanks. I was hoping someone might know what a matt screen 'looks like' since the glass itself appears to have no markings on it, vs the standard screen.

    Identifying Canon Focus Screens

Hi, I have a 5D focus screen in the Canon kit box with the tool. The box is Ee S CZ6-9567. But, having sold the 5D years ago, I’m not sure if the screen is the original screen supplied with the camera or indeed the Matt screen. The screen itself appears to be unmarked and looks a bit like...

    Tabletop Product Lighting

Hi All I really need some help choosing some lighting to help photograph circuit boards and other small products (typically 4 to 6" square). These 'Cubelite' things caught my eye: http://www.wexphotographic.com/buy-lastolite-58cm-cubelite/p12375 But would one or more table-top (or flash?)...

Canon 5D MK I 'classic' - owners thread

Well there's the Canon 24mm 2.8 (here), or you should probably be able to pick up a 28mm 1.8 for that money used. Would one of the 70-200s be long enough for your motorsport needs?

    canon 5d mk3 extreme noise

Just to mention, this photo could have been gotten without the noise using exposure bracketing and a tripod, then stitching the sky onto the properly exposed base, or by using some HDR method to combine them.

autofocus slightly blurred compared to manual

Try photographing a ruler at an angle, and see if the AF focus point is not quite where you think it is: http://regex.info/blog/photo-tech/focus-chart

    what lens for spare £100

Another (and trusted) supplier of the 50/1.8, currently £75 also. You're just about within range of a used 28-135 IS, as an alternative.

    Canon 5d mark 1 or Canon 40d?

At the risk of stating the obvious - it really depends what glass you have.

CANON EF 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 MARK II USM ULTRASONIC ZOOM LENS (Any Feedback ?)

It's an old kit lens - some thoughts on it here. Personally I'd look at an IS 18-55 or, if it is within reach, a 28-135 IS which is surprisingly good (IMO) (a review here). One recently sold on here for about £130 IIRC.

    New lens

Since the 10-22 has been mentioned - another option is to go with the 10-22 and get a 24-105 F4L (which is amazing VFM at the moment). Then in future add a 70-200 F4L IS and pretty much everything outdoors is well covered :) Don't get too hung up on having f2.8. I've just moved from a 2.8...

    Canon 70-200 4.0 to 2.8 ?

I wonder though whether that is because it *needs* to be more accurate with an f2.8 (just a thought). The 2.8 is very conspicuous and heavy.

Question is: what do you want different from the kit lens? And, how important is image stabalisation to you?

    M5 Photoshoot - Advice Needed!

Hi, I've been asked to photograph an M5 so am looking for advise. Essentially I'm a total noob when it comes to cars. Kit available to me - 5D, 430EXii, 24-105, 70-200 2.8, 85 1.8 I'm pondering on the idea of hiring a TS+E lens (90mm perhaps?) though I have never used one before and presume I...
