Thanks tony. Always worth knowing, i know its hard enough to meet the dataco criteria without falling foul of there little rules that could be twisted out of your favour

Is every paper different then or do they all have a standard rate for a picture/set? Also how do you know what there rate is? is it just a case of contacting them? I understand all the dataco stuff but i haven't found anywhere what you should be charging for your work

For the dataco license they state the pictures need to be bought at "the going rate". Whats classed as the going rate? Would be a bummer to get 15 published then find out they weren't at the going rate and getting knocked back for a license

    Adding a lens

Hey chaps, ive got a bit of spare cash and looking to add another lens to my bag. Ive already got a 70-200mm as it seemed it was the most important to get first. Not sure what to get next. I dont need anything longer than the 70-200 at the moment as im just a novice and just learning my way...

    400mm f2.8 primes which one?

Im no pro but i believe the pro sports guys have the IS switched off, not much point splashing out on the IS if your not going to use it

What sports are YOU shooting this weekend?

Doing the road race but definitely wont be at box hill with the other 10s of 1000s. The triathlon and marathon are also on the list for later in the games along with anything else that doesn't require accreditation or a ticket

Barclays Photographer of the 20 Seasons

While i agree that theres been far better ones published, i wouldnt go as far as calling them mediocre. You need to look at each one individually, for a start some of them were taken on film without the help of autofocus. Now while the film ones may not be in the top 3, you really need to...

    LOW LIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY

The non IS if fine. Most of the time shooting fast moving sports you need to leave it off anyway. Luckily i found out this before parting with my cash and saved a lot of money by going for the non IS

    New 1Dx announced by Canon

Exactly. Do pros ever use the video? I wouldnt of thought so. Anybody buying this certainly isnt buying it for its video ability, it would make far more sense to offer the pro dslr's without video. But then they wouldnt be able to charge £6k for it
