What to do about damaged lens coating?

I had a lens that had a damaged coating on a convex front glass and it gave me a bright flare on all of my images, I eventually bought a scrapper and swapped the bits over however I did clean of quite a bit of the coating before repairing it and it was totally unusable even in low light...

    Camping Equipment recommendations

Also consider hammock camping if you plan to give the proper sites a swerve, all you need is a hammock and a tarpaulin and maybe some pitons if no trees are about and you are all set, also Lidle and Aldi do some really cheap pop up tents which are okay for a day or two camping.

    D300 or D7000?

I still use my D300 and it is old but very robust with its sealing and alloy body so it wins out in the rain and dusty damp places etc but from what I have read about the D7000 wins out on the superior technology so it is case of horses for courses, I love my D300 :)

    Mach loop

We went twice on the run and saw nothing despite the loop being booked for Low fly, first time it turned out that a helicopter was moving something for a farmer so it was scuttled but the second time we just sat and saw nothing but that is the luck of the draw, we have been since with some...
