The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I have both lenses and the 1.4x (sold the 2x, not overly impressed) is excellent on either. The 150-600mm is a cracking bit of kit, balances on my X-H2 bodies much better than the 100-400mm and even though they weigh almost the same it 'feels' lighter. No zoom lens creep and focus is faster...

Alternatives to a Gitzo GT 4553s

Stu I don't know what size camera/lens you have, but as you are looking at the GT4552/3, it would suggest that you need a reasonably sturdy tripod. Those are brilliant, but bloody heavy tripods and even heavier once a head is on. I have the slightly lighter Systematic GT3543LS but that too is...

Sorry to hear that Dave, but if you do decide to sell then here is a (y) from me on your honest descriptions of your kit and the excellent way you conduct the transaction.

    Experience of Viltrox 13mm 1.4

It is a fantastic lens which is built to FujiFilm red badge standards and is optically superb. I use it for both landscape and astro and it is best summed up by Andy Mumford, one of the sharpest and IMHO unbiased reviewers on the net: View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GX-EOI26oPQ I...

    Buying from Viltrox direct

I have bought my Viltrox lenses from: https://www.avmphoto.com/ What you might, or might not, save in price is more than made up for in next day delivery, a UK importer should things go wrong and a thoroughly decent owner to do business with. I have been caught in the import tax/courier...

    Any Military Experts on here?

In the military the Royal Artillery are affectionately known as the 'Long Range Snipers,' as they (mostly) fire their guns at targets from a distance. In much the same way, the Royal Signals are known as 'Bleeps'! Major Tim Saunders wrote an excellent book, 'Crete, The Airborne Invasion 1941'...

My pleasure. Lets hope that your dealings with the "Long Range Snipers" is successful! My eldest son and I have done several battlefield visits to Crete, military wise it was an unbelievable campaign.

His Cap badge is Royal Artillery. You can research your Grandads service through several means but this link: https://www.thegunners.org.uk/service/tracing-archive will provide an excellent starting point. Good luck in your search.

The Fabulous Fuji X owners thread

I must admit to having read all the reviews and did think that they were too good to be true but took a punt and wow, it is a fantastic bit of kit. The cheeky devils even put a 'red' badge on it and packaged it properly, FujiFilm take note, and out of the box it makes that essential, one stab at...
