I think what I'm asking is, given the closeness in quality between the three , is the tamron professional quality? So far, it is looking like it would be suitable, but I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything

I actually meant the sb700 as it was one around the 200 mark. The yongnuo I looked up was the YN565EX. I've just looked up the yn568ex. What are the main differences between the 3? As the price difference is quite significant. Is it likely that the yongnuos have any features I would miss?

I just wanted to update this thread to say thank you I went with the nikon d810 as it felt much better in my hands. I've used it quite a lot and it has felt really good so thank you for everyone's help.

With the auto focus and dynamic range, I will likely be taking shots in natural light too, and outside, with kids running about. Is the af that big a difference, and would the difference in dynamic range really come in to play here too? two last questions! I will be doing some very low light...
