    Anyone used E-infinity ?

Reading through these posts, I ask why do people risk buying expensive grey goods, with all the hassles this entails, and with all the problems that a defective item or accidental damage will entail. Looks like they play games with import taxes ans VAT as well.

Micro 4 3rds sell it to me

If you are doing long lens work, or just want a pocketable little camera like the EM10, then the M43 system might be interesting. I wanted a one lens solution for hiking, I discovered that a Z7 + 24-200 weighs about the same as an OM1 +12-100. It has become a bit of a myth that FF must be heavy.

When are people going to realise

I do not live in Britain, but I live in another European nation. I buy my Nikon gear from Nital, who are the agents for Italy. I have recently had to use their repair services for a couple of accidents I had with some gear. The charges were fair and I got a discount on parts. Their repair...

Beware if sending your camera to Nikon for repair.

It has been a bad year. I have managed to drop not just one but two lenses. Never happened before in my 40 years of photography. I dropped my Nikon 24-200 and the VR was wrecked it seems. I sent it off to LTR who repair Nikon gear in Italy last Sunday, and today after a week, I got it back...

    The Camera At War

I learnt a lot about photography with Hedgecoe's Book of Photography, when I bought my first camera, back in the 70's. His later books were not so good, but this one was very good. Jorge Lewinski, wrote a very good book about colour photography, Colour in Focus. My favourite technique book is...

    Band in small hall

I found even in a small venue, that a longish lens is very useful to isolate the musicians. I used a M43 35-100 2.8 lens for these shots of a small concert. The 100 (200FF) end was very useful. When I shot Jazz in larger venues, the 300 2.8 was my standard lens. I was sat right under the...

London Copyright Law for Selling Prints?

Sorry, but trespass has nothing to do with taking a picture. A landowner can stop me taking pictures, by kicking me out of his property, if I am trespassing on his land. This is what happens when you take unauthorised pictures of lets say a concert. They expel you from the venue. Nobody has...

London Copyright Law for Selling Prints?

These discussions always end up in some hypothetical fantasy world where the owners of buildings and monuments are policing the media to find pictures of their properties, and then taking legal action to enforce any rights they might have. If I publish a picture of let's say ,the Shard in a...

You might like this link Or this old article from DPR, which also covers Europe. Basically you have nothing to worry about. Most of the problems arise with problems like trespass on private public areas. Nobody is going to come after you for selling a print with their building in it. It would...

    The last great photojournalist?

Correctly the article says that the heyday of photojournalism coincided with the Sunday Colour supplements and we are now have a Babel of photography, some of it shot by bystanders on cell phones, flooding the media. It was in this period that a few photographers rose to the top and became...

What software do members like best for processing bracketed HDR images?

I think you will find that this industry standard software is sold to hundreds of thousands of companies ranging from huge corporations, right down to the one man band technical studio. Capture One is aimed at Professional photographers. They both price at what their markets will support of course.

What software do members like best for processing bracketed HDR images?

All my technical software is for a single seat. I just wanted to point out that photographic PP software is pretty good value for money.

What software do members like best for processing bracketed HDR images?

Have any of you guys complaining about the cost of software ever had anything to do with technical software. Check out how much a bog basic version of Autocad costs. A Chinese clone of Autocad costs €600 + VAT. My Finite Element software costs me €1000 a year to keep it current. Capture One...
